It was my dream since I came to bangalore to buy a good cycle and use it in place of my two wheeler to commute inside bangalore. After experimenting with BSA mach for about 8 months finally purchased my dream bike Trek 4300 on 21/03/2009 from BOTS. After a huge analysis of various models and brands finally went the one I had in my heart initially. Some times you cannot come out of intuition.
Bicycle is best suited for Bangalore traffic as it takes almost the same time that of two wheeler and far less time compared to four wheeler. My office is 18km from my home and I take between 55 min to 1:05 mins. In my two wheeler best case is 40 mins and worst case would be 1:10 mins. In a four wheeler less than one hour is really a miracle. It gives way to appreciate your intelligence rather than scolding Bangalore traffic at the time of traffic jams/clogging. I do not prefer to spend time in gym or park to have physical exercise (I am sure it works not more than 3 day ). Why not find a easy, enjoyable way to commute along with having a very good physical exorcise.
About the bicycle:
It is not the right time to write a review but would like to share few happy findings of my bike. I am very happy to say that my bike climbed a overpass at windsor mannor bridge WITHOUT EVEN A SINGLE PEDDAL by picking up the speed in the previous downhill. Same thing happened in Mekri circle under pass. Its very good and enjoyable on it. Initial ride gave pain in some parts but after few adjustment to suite my physic, all is well.
Cyclo computer, which gives speed, odometer, trip meter and so on. Ordered one from Amazon.com and my friend is will be bringing it in first week of april. I did not investigate much on this, just stick on to few reviews, I had bad expirience by purchasing some non branded wireless cyclo computer, so this time just blindly ordered a well known brand.
Thanks to all who helped to making decision and buying it.
